Cordele Police Department
The Cordele Police Department is proud to announce our annual Shop With A Cop event, taking place on December 19th, 2025!
Each year, we partner with the local Primary school who select 20–30 deserving children who have shown exceptional character, overcome challenges, or earned recognition for their efforts. These children are invited to spend a special day with our officers — a day filled with joy, connection, and community spirit.
👮♂️ Here’s how it works:
• We pick the children up from their school via bus.
• Each child is paired with a Cordele Police Officer.
• Together, they shop in Walmart, where the child is given a set amount of money to shop — whether for themselves or for loved ones.
• The goal? To build trusting relationships between our youth and law enforcement, showing them that we are always here to support and protect them.
This heartwarming tradition is made possible through the generosity of local businesses and community members — and we need your help to keep it going!
💙 How You Can Help: We are currently raising funds to support this year’s event. Every donation, big or small, helps us make a meaningful impact in a child’s life. If you or your business would like to contribute, please contact us directly at the Cordele Police Department at (229)-276-2952.
Let’s come together to make this holiday season unforgettable for these amazing kids. Thank you for your continued support, Cordele! 🎁
The purpose of the event is to foster positive relationships between youth and officers. A group of third graders are selected each year during the end-of-the-year holiday season to shop at one of the local area stores to purchase gifts for themselves, for family members or for friends. Each child is given money to spend from donations we received from generous business owners and residents of our community. Police personnel escorts the child around the store and assists in selecting appropriate gifts. After shopping, the children will be provided with snacks and has the opportunity to participate in games and activities with the police officers.
